On an amazing evening dedicated to innovation and construction quality, the technical information event of Interplast took place at the historic Olympion in Thessaloniki. The iconic building, a landmark for the city's culture and architecture, was flooded with attendees, including professionals from the field and representatives from the political, local government, and business communities.
The hosts of the evening, Tasos Rizopoulos, president and CEO of the company, and Giannis Rizopoulos, general manager, presented with excellence and the aid of state-of-the-art audiovisual material the path that Interplast has paved, consistently investing in research and technological development with respect for the environment and the need for energy conservation. This combination has made Interplast an ambassador of Greek “Made in Greece” internationally.
Deputy Minister of Development Stavros Kalafatis, responsible for research and innovation, in his address characterized Interplast as a model to emulate, adding that the company "demonstrates in practice that the business sector of the country, particularly in Northern Greece, is innovating, progressing, and developing."
In his address, the mayor of Thessaloniki, Stelios Angeloudis, congratulated the top executives of Interplast "for their remarkable and self-made journey," which he added is "an authentic Greek success story."
The event also brought two announcements made by Tasos Rizopoulos that highlight Interplast's upward trajectory in business: the expansion of its factory in the Komotini Industrial Zone and the reopening of its historic building in Sindos as a transshipment point, symbolizing the company's return to its birthplace, Thessaloniki.
The two main speakers referred to the difficult struggle of exports and extroversion. "At this moment, we are exporting to 75 countries on 5 continents, while in 2018 we had 32 countries and 3 continents. With prestigious projects such as the Nestle factories in Hungary, the Magdi Yacub in Egypt, the new Lego factory at the Austria-Hungary border, the Belgrade Waterfront in Belgrade, and Coca Cola in various parts of the planet," emphasized Giannis Rizopoulos among other points.
John Rizopoulos also presented the innovative systems and products of Interplast, emphasizing the research and high expertise in producing products certified by the most reputable organizations worldwide, as well as the company's future plans.
An emotional moment of the evening was the three significant awards presented to individuals who have been executives and long-time partners of Interplast:
